  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 0.75 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.75 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 each large eggs
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a small bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl, beat softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until creamy.
  • Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in chocolate chips.
  • Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough onto prepared baking sheets.
  • Bake for 9 to 12 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; move to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

For extra chewy cookies, refrigerate dough for 24 hours before baking.
