Recipe Steps

1. Preheat Oven and Prep Pan:

•Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang for easy removal.

2. Melt Chocolate and Butter:

•In a microwave-safe bowl, melt 1 cup of dark chocolate and ½ cup of butter in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth. Set aside.

3. Combine Dry Ingredients:

•In a separate bowl, sift together ½ cup of cocoa powder, 1 cup of sugar, and 2 tbsp of espresso powder.

4. Mix Wet Ingredients:

•Stir the melted chocolate mixture with 2 large eggs and 1 tsp of vanilla extract until smooth. Gradually add in the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.

5. Pour and Bake:

•Pour the batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until a toothpick comes out mostly clean but with a few moist crumbs for that fudgy texture.

6. Cool and Serve:

•Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before lifting out and slicing into squares.
