Preparation Steps
Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
Add vanilla extract and mix to combine.
Gradually add flour and salt, mixing until just combined.
Shape the dough into a log, wrap in plastic, and chill for 1 hour.
Slice the chilled dough into 1/4 inch thick pieces and place on a baking sheet.
Bake for 25 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
Allow cookies to cool completely before serving.
