Preparation Steps
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla.
In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually blend into the creamed mixture.
Roll out dough on a floured surface to about 1/4-inch thickness. Cut into heart shapes using cookie cutters.
Place cookies 1 inch apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until edges are lightly browned.
Remove from oven and cool on wire racks.
