Preparation Steps
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8-inch square baking pan.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
In a large bowl, beat the eggs and sugar together until light and fluffy, then stir in the melted butter and vanilla extract.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until combined.
Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan, then scatter chopped dark chocolate pieces over the batter as the truffle center.
Top with the remaining batter, smoothing the surface evenly.
Bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the edge comes out clean.
Allow brownies to cool completely before slicing and serving.
Notes
For extra richness, serve brownies slightly warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
