This delicious Taco Tortilla Stacks recipe layers seasoned ground beef, cheese, and fresh toppings for a fun and flavorful Mexican-inspired meal that’s perfect for gatherings or weeknight dinners.
Heat a large skillet over medium heat and cook the ground beef until browned and fully cooked, about 7-8 minutes.
Drain excess fat from the skillet and stir in the taco seasoning mix with 2/3 cup water. Simmer for 5 minutes until thickened.
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, layer 4 tortillas, then half of the seasoned beef, followed by 1 cup of cheese. Repeat layers ending with tortillas topped with remaining cheese.
Bake uncovered for 15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Let the stack sit for 5 minutes before slicing into squares. Serve topped with sour cream, salsa, diced tomatoes, and green onions.
Notes
For extra flavor, add sliced jalapeños between layers or serve with guacamole on the side.
