Instructions
Preparation Steps
Combine strawberries, sugar, and water in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
Bring to a simmer and cook for 10 to 15 minutes until the strawberries are soft and the mixture thickens slightly.
Remove from heat and stir in fresh lemon juice if using.
Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve to remove solids and let cool before using.
