Preparation Steps
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
In a separate bowl, whisk buttermilk, oil, eggs, vanilla, and red food coloring until combined.
Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until smooth.
Divide batter evenly among the prepared cupcake liners, filling each about two-thirds full.
Bake in the preheated oven for 16-18 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
