Preparation Steps
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
In a large bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until creamy.
Add egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and mix until combined.
Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix well.
Fold in crushed red hot candies evenly into the dough.
Drop rounded spoonfuls of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing 2 inches apart.
Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden. Let cool for 5 minutes.
