Instructions
Preparation Steps
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
In a large bowl, sift together the sugar, flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Add eggs, buttermilk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the flour mixture and beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.
Stir in the hot brewed coffee until the batter is well combined and smooth.
Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Allow cakes to cool in pans for 10 minutes before removing to wire racks to cool completely.
Frost with your favorite chocolate frosting and serve.
Notes
For best results, use freshly brewed strong coffee to enhance the chocolate flavor.
