Preparation Steps
Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium-high heat.
Add three popcorn kernels and cover the pot. Once they pop, add the remaining popcorn kernels and sugar.
Constantly shake the pot back and forth over the heat to prevent burning while the popcorn pops.
When popping slows to 2-3 seconds between pops, remove the pot from heat and immediately dump the kettle corn onto a large baking sheet.
Sprinkle salt over the hot kettle corn and stir to coat evenly.
Let cool before serving.
Notes
Store leftover kettle corn in an airtight container to keep it fresh and crunchy.
