Instructions
Preparation Steps
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). In a bowl, cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until fluffy.
Gradually add flour to the butter mixture and blend until crumbly dough forms.
Press the dough evenly into a greased 9x13 inch baking pan. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
Remove from oven and sprinkle caramel bits evenly over the warm crust. Pour sweetened condensed milk over caramel.
Return to oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes until caramel is melted.
Remove pan from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Let sit for 5 minutes, then spread chocolate evenly.
Allow bars to cool completely in the refrigerator before cutting into squares.
Notes
Store bars in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
