Preparation Steps
In a large bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until the sugar is completely dissolved.
Pour the mixture into a shallow airtight container and freeze for 4-5 hours, stirring every 30 minutes to break up ice crystals for a creamy texture.
Once fully frozen and creamy, scoop and serve immediately or store covered in the freezer until ready to enjoy.
Notes
For a richer flavor, use full-fat dairy and fresh vanilla beans if available.
