Instructions
Preparation Steps
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
Add softened butter, egg, orange juice, orange zest, and milk. Mix until just combined; do not overmix.
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
Bake for 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For extra flavor, try adding 0.25 cup chopped walnuts or pecans to the batter before baking.
