Instructions
Preparation Steps
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a small bowl, mix garlic powder, chili powder, salt, and black pepper.
Rub the spice mixture evenly over both sides of the chicken breasts.
Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken breasts 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
Top each chicken breast with salsa, sliced jalapeños, and shredded Monterey Jack cheese.
Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through and cheese is melted.
Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
