Instructions
Preparation Steps
Combine peeled and chopped apples with water in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
Cover and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes until apples are soft.
Mash the cooked apples with a fork or potato masher to your desired consistency.
Stir in sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Mix well and cook for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Remove from heat and allow to cool before serving or storing.

Store homemade applesauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week or freeze for longer storage.
