Instructions
Preparation Steps
Place chicken pieces in a large bowl and pour over the buttermilk. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
Combine flour, paprika, salt, pepper, and garlic powder in a large shallow dish.
Remove chicken from buttermilk and dredge each piece in the flour mixture, coating well.
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat to 350°F (175°C).
Fry chicken pieces in batches for 12-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and cooked through.
Drain cooked chicken on paper towels and serve hot.
Notes
For extra crispy chicken, double dredge by dipping back into buttermilk and flour mixture once more before frying.
