Preparation Steps
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 12-cup muffin pan with cupcake liners.
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
In another bowl, combine buttermilk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract.
Gradually mix wet ingredients into dry ingredients until smooth.
Divide batter evenly among cupcake liners and bake for 22-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Allow cupcakes to cool completely on a wire rack before frosting.
For the frosting, beat cream cheese and butter until smooth, then gradually add powdered sugar and peanut butter until creamy.
Frost each cupcake generously and sprinkle chopped Snickers candy bars on top.
