Instructions
Preparation Steps
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large bowl, combine the sour cream, mayonnaise, garlic powder, and black pepper.
Add the cooked ham, asparagus, diced onion, and 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese to the mixture. Stir until well combined.
Pour the mixture into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish and spread evenly.
Bake uncovered for 30 minutes.
Remove casserole from oven, sprinkle remaining shredded cheddar cheese and 1 cup of French fried onions evenly over the top.
Return to oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes, until cheese is melted and onions are golden.
Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
This casserole can be made a day ahead and reheated for convenient meal prep. For extra creaminess, add a splash of half-and-half to the mixture.
