Instructions
Preparation Steps
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon.
In a large mixing bowl, beat softened cream cheese and granulated sugar until smooth and creamy.
Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
Mix in melted butter and sour cream until fully incorporated.
Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and fold until just combined.
Pour half the batter into the prepared pan. Sprinkle half of the brown sugar and chopped walnuts evenly over the batter.
Pour the remaining batter over the topping. Sprinkle the remaining brown sugar and walnuts on top.
Bake for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Allow the cake to cool before slicing and serving.
Notes
For an extra rich flavor, serve with a dollop of whipped cream or fresh berries.
