Preparation Steps
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8x8-inch baking pan.
In a medium bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, and salt; set aside.
In a large bowl, beat the eggs and sugar until light and fluffy. Stir in the melted butter and vanilla extract.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
Fold in the chopped walnuts, if using.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with moist crumbs.
Allow brownies to cool completely before cutting into squares.
