Instructions
Preparation Steps
In a small bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
In a large bowl, mix flour, half the sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Roll out the dough into a 12x15 inch rectangle on a floured surface.
Spread softened butter over the dough. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle evenly on top.
Roll the dough tightly from the long edge and cut into 12 equal slices.
Place slices into a greased baking pan, cover, and let rise for 30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 350°F and bake rolls for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
Cool rolls slightly before serving warm.
Notes
For an extra touch, drizzle with cream cheese glaze once cooled.
