Instructions
Preparation Steps
Warm the milk to about 110°F and sprinkle yeast over it. Let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the milk mixture, sugar, melted butter, and eggs.
Gradually add flour and salt, mixing until a soft dough forms. Knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth.
Place dough in greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled.
Roll dough out into a 16x12 inch rectangle. Spread softened butter over the dough.
Mix brown sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle evenly over the buttered dough.
Roll the dough tightly from the long edge and cut into 12 equal rolls.
Place rolls into a greased baking dish, cover and let rise for 30 minutes.
Bake at 350°F for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
While rolls bake, prepare frosting by beating cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
Spread frosting on warm rolls and serve.
Notes
These cinnamon rolls are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
