Preparation Steps
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a jelly roll pan with parchment paper.
In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder.
In another bowl, beat egg yolks and 1/2 cup sugar until pale. Add vanilla extract.
In a separate bowl, beat egg whites until soft peaks form. Gradually add remaining sugar, beating until stiff peaks form.
Gently fold egg yolk mixture and dry ingredients into egg whites.
Pour batter into prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 12-15 minutes.
Allow cake to cool, then spread whipped cream over top and roll up gently.
