Preparation Steps
Preheat the oil in a deep fryer or heavy pot to 365°F (185°C).
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
In a separate bowl, combine milk, melted butter, and beaten egg.
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
Drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil and fry for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown, turning them occasionally.
Remove donut holes with a slotted spoon and place them on paper towels to drain.
For the chocolate glaze, melt chocolate chips and heavy cream together in a microwave-safe bowl in 20-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
Stir in vanilla extract into the melted chocolate glaze.
Dip each donut hole into the chocolate glaze to coat and set on a wire rack to dry.

These donut holes are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
