Instructions
Preparation Steps
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
Add the vanilla extract and salt, then mix well.
Gradually mix in the flour until just combined. Fold in the chopped maraschino cherries.
Shape the dough into 1-inch balls and place them 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake for 18-20 minutes or until the bottoms are lightly golden.
Remove from oven and immediately roll the warm cookies in powdered sugar. Let cool on wire racks.
