Instructions
Preparation Steps
In a medium saucepan, bring the water to a boil.
Add rolled oats, reduce heat to low, and simmer for 5 minutes uncovered.
Stir in dried tart cherries, vanilla extract, and cinnamon.
Cook for another 5 minutes until the oats are creamy and most liquid is absorbed.
Remove from heat and stir in maple syrup if using.
Serve topped with toasted chopped hazelnuts.
Notes
For a vegan version, use maple syrup and almond milk. Toast nuts for extra flavor.
