Instructions
Preparation Steps
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt, then stir in melted butter and vanilla extract until crumbly.
Press half of the crumb mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking dish to form the crust.
Spread softened cream cheese evenly over the crust layer.
Layer fresh pitted cherries over the cream cheese, then sprinkle toasted sliced almonds on top.
Sprinkle the remaining crumb mixture evenly over the top.
Bake for 25 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
Allow to cool before slicing and serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, drizzle with honey or sprinkle powdered sugar before serving. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
