Instructions
Preparation Steps
Preheat grill or skillet to medium-high heat.
Divide ground beef into 4 equal portions and form into patties. Season with salt and pepper.
Cook patties for 4-5 minutes on each side until desired doneness.
Place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty during last minute of cooking to melt.
Toast hamburger buns lightly on grill or skillet.
Assemble burgers by layering lettuce, tomato slices, pickles, cooked patties with cheese, ketchup, and mustard on buns.
Serve immediately while hot.
Notes
For extra flavor, add caramelized onions or crispy bacon.
