Preparation Steps
Melt the butter in a large saucepan over medium heat.
Add brown sugar and salt to the melted butter and stir continuously until the mixture bubbles and thickens, about 5 minutes.
Slowly pour in heavy cream while whisking constantly to combine thoroughly.
Continue to cook for another 10 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking, until the mixture thickens to a sauce-like consistency.
Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract. Let cool slightly before serving.
